The ULTIMATE weekend in Costa Rica

Jul 9th, 2009 by Mary | 0

I had a great time visiting sweet friends from language school, renewing my visa, and playing in an Ultimate Frisbee Tournament in San Carlos, Costa Rica last weekend.

I had been busy with team and visitors and didn’t get around to making hotel reservations or transportation arrangements to and from the tournament.  But thanks to the super nice folks I met at the tournament, and God’s provision, I had a roof over my head and found a way to and from the tourney.  About 100 players from Costa Rica, Panama and the USA came together to play in this hat tournament.  A few Belgians, Mexicans, and Germans that currently live in Central America also joined us. I recognized a few faces from last year’s tourney, hugged several players that traveled from SC and enjoyed meeting new friends as well.  No serious injuries occurred that I know of and a fun time was had by all.

The only bummer was finding myself in a San Jose hostel the last night in Costa Rica… on a top bunk… in a small room of 4 bunkbeds with a least one snorer directly beneath me.  Thank God for earplugs.
